About Compass
A Practice Built on Time, Trust, and Compassion
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
Colossians 3:23
Compass Family Practice was created out of years of firsthand experience with what wasn’t working in traditional healthcare—rushed visits, unheard patients, and care that often felt reactive rather than relational.
We believed patients deserved more time, more trust, and more genuine connection with their providers. Compass was built to restore that—offering thoughtful, relationship-based primary care that puts people first and treats each patient with dignity, respect, and compassion.
At Compass, healthcare is deeply personal. We strive to create an environment where patients feel known, listened to, and supported, and where care is guided by integrity, honesty, and a commitment to doing what’s right.
Our Approach to Care
Compass Family Practice operates primarily on a membership-based care model that allows us to step away from volume-driven systems and focus on meaningful relationships and long-term health.
This approach gives our providers the time to listen, ask questions, and partner with patients in their care—without the pressure of rushed appointments or one-size-fits-all solutions. Whether someone is seeking preventive care, ongoing support, or guidance through health challenges, our goal is to provide care that feels steady, thoughtful, and deeply human.
Care Rooted in Faith and Integrity
Our work at Compass is grounded in Christian values and a belief that every person is created with purpose and worth. Faith shapes how we care for patients—with humility, compassion, and a commitment to serving others well.
While we care for individuals and families from all backgrounds, our faith influences our dedication to integrity, honesty, and treating every patient with kindness and respect. At Compass, compassion isn’t optional—it’s foundational.
Meet Our Providers
Michelle Baxter, FNP-C
Co-Founder | Family Nurse Practitioner
“Patients deserve care that is both excellent and compassionate. My goal is to give them both, to make sure they feel seen, heard, and truly cared for.” — Michelle
Taryn Grattic, PA-C, DMSc (Candidate)
Co-Founder | Physician Associate
“When I sit with my patients, I see the person, not the problem. My job is to listen, to teach, and to walk beside them because healing happens when people feel known and cared for.” — Taryn
Together: A Shared Calling
Taryn and Michelle founded Compass Family Practice to create something rare.
They wanted to build a clinic where people are truly cared for, where trust is rebuilt, and where healthcare feels like it should — personal, honest, and full of compassion.
Both are mothers, healthcare leaders, and women who believe in balancing clinical excellence with heartfelt connection.
They know what it feels like to juggle busy lives and families while trying to stay healthy, and they bring that understanding to every patient they meet.
Together, they share a vision of medicine that is rooted in integrity and guided by love for people.
